We stayed at the Mango Inn for 5 nights at the end of our two weeks
in Tobago. If we had known how comfortable we were going to be here,
we would definitely have stayed here for the whole two weeks! The apartment
was very spacious with two double beds, a good sized bathroom and a
well-equipped kitchenette. The apartment had enough cupboard and storage
space for us to unpack all of our things and live in comfort. The apartment
is well maintained, very clean and everything was in excellent condition.
All openings to the outside were covered in mesh wire, and the beds
had mosquito nets, so mosquitos weren't a problem and we slept soundly.
The area is very quiet apart from the orange-winged parrots and the
Cocrico (Tobago's national bird) that woke us up in the morning with
their calling! The best feature of this apartment was by far the fabulous
view over the village and the bay. It was perfect for just sitting on
the veranda and enjoying the sights and sounds of Speyside.
Being amateur bird watchers, we were delighted that the lush garden,
mature trees and bird-bath put out by the owners attracted so many birds
and we were able to identify and photograph many birds from the comfort
of our apartment. Species included the bananaquit, blue tanager, mot
mot, golden-olive and red-crowned woodpeckers, tropical mockingbirds,
various hummingbirds, house wrens, tropical kingbird, bare-eyed thrush,
yelow-bellied elaenia, crested oropendola, the common black hawk and
various others.
As for the location... The Mango Inn is built in a residential area
of the village, on the opposite side of the village from where the "tourist
strip" with the big hotels are (but still close enough to walk to the
restarurants and bars). It is an easy 5-10 minute downhill walk to the
beach and there is even a little private beach nearby which the hosts
pointed out to us. The walk back is uphill but, unless you are extremely
unfit, you hardly notice the strain because there are so many sights
to take in that your mind is completely occupied by other things and
you are home in no time.
Our hosts went out of their way to make our stay there fantastic. They
gave helpful advice on the area, the locals, tour operators etc. and
they even cooked us a breadfruit just because we were curious about
how it tasted! And compliments to the chef by the way, it was fantastic!
They were also happy for us to help ourselves to the papaya, mango and
herbs in their garden, and I have to say... we had a feast!
Overall, if we are lucky
enough to return to Tobago one day, there is no doubt in my mind that
we will book ourselves into the Mango Inn and just stay put!

Our stay in Tobago was great. The people are very friendly and the Mango
Inn is a nice place to stay. Especially the view to the village and
the sea is super!
Thanks for introducing us to Redman Dive Center. Redman and Leon showed
us very beautiful dive spots in Speyside. We can absolutely recommend
them to any new guests.
Together with Arnold we went driving around the island. We saw a lot
of beautiful places like Argyle waterfalls, the rainforest and Castara.
We enjoyed our holiday in Tobago very much and we are going to miss
waking up with all the birds a little bit.

This is the first time I visited T&T. Mango Inn is a nice place
to stay. I could wake up by the singing of many birds. A small bird
came into my room this morning and it flew around me with singing. How
nice it is.
People in Speyside are really nice. I walked from the bottom of the
hill to the Mango Inn, but I could never come back in a short time because
the people in the community spoke to me nicely, so I stopped at each
house and enjoyed talking to them.
I stayed in Trinidad for 3 days before coming to Speyside, Tobago, but
I think I should have come to Speyside straight. I hope I will come
back again before going back to my country, Japan.
Thank you, Mango Inn.

Our stay at the Mango Inn was very enjoyable and remarkable. Our family
loved the beautiful rooms and amazing views. The fresh bananas, papayas
and herbes were all amazing. We really don´t know how we could
possibly enjoy a banana when we get back home after eating the fresh
ones here.
We´re glad that the Mango Inn was part of our adventures in Tobago
and hope to return in the future.

You have a magnificent guest
house with a breathtaking view. This is a perfect place to sta on the
northern part of the island. The sounds are captivating - from the clashing
waves below to the magnificent birds in the trees in front of us.
You have done a wonderful job maintaining the guest house. Thank you
for allowing us to stay with you.
Thank you for NOT having televisions in the rooms.

Jahr.

Our stay here has been all too short. Our hosts were always friendly
and accomodating. The views and the birds make this a perfect place
to relax . We enjoyed our trip to Little Tobago, the snorkeling and
the steel band at the Blue Waters Inn. I hope we have the opportunity
to return - my wife would love it and hope that Tobago doesn´t
change too much.
Best wishes

We arrived late Friday night, very tired from the flight and no cash.
Our hosts lend us some and they made us a nice breakfast the next morning.
We took a few days to adjust and relax and our hosts helped us with
everything: hire a car, find the right dive shop, where to go for dinner
and a trip to the rainforest with the best tour guide Newton George.
The Mango Inn looks great, beautiful room, very clean and the environment
is stunning. The view over the bay is great and never boaring. The people
of Tobago and epacially Speyside are so friendly. Everytime we drove
down the road they say hello, okay, goodnight or just waved.
All of this made our holiday unforgettable. We also hope that Trinidad
and Tobago do well in the world cup in Germany next year. Because they
have a Dutch coach it makes us extra proud!
Lots of Love

Our stay in the Mango Inn lasted for 14 nights. We felt very much at
home with our hosts. Most of the time we walked daily up and down to
Speyside and felt the easy going life style from people along the road.
Walking to Pirates Bay in Charlotteville was wonderful and the snorkeling
was a good reward.
All the best, it was unforgettable.

Einfach
Klasse!!! Ihr ward coole Vermieter.

Thanks for a wonderful stay. You really made us feel welcome and saw
to our every need - from bananas to toys for our daughter! We only intended
to stay here for 4 days, but when the time came we saw no reason to
go. And therefore stayed for another week. You truly have a wonderful
place here and we thank you for all your help and kindness.

We are coming to the end of our three week holiday touring
around Trinidad & Tobago and we have just voted, this to be our favourite
room with our favourite view. The guesthouse Mango Inn is in a beautiful
location - right on the edge of the forest but with the sea just minutes
away - wish we could stay longer.
